Halloween my second Passion
For some who don’t know yet, I’m Bram 37 years old and I’m from the Netherlands. besides the Mumzels I have other passions like Halloween.
Fun fact: I like to act with Daims the wizard and Robin the mud girl (both also help me with the Mumzels every now and then)
Every year Halloween is getting bigger in the Netherlands (blowed over from America). in 2015 I was asked for work (prisoner transport) to participate with a Vehicle in a Halloween Event. We then had to participate in an act to catch crooks so that the children could see. I liked it so much that I registered myself to participate every year.
This was a kids ghost tour through the neighborhoods. The first year I really participated in 2016 we were pirates guarding a treasure, The kids got a Foam sword to beat us and get the treasure.
2017
In 2017 I had taken the bus from work again and the bus had had an accident and the crooks had escaped from my bus. In the middle of the dark there was a bus with flashing lights and the children had to look for a Crook.
2018
In 2018 I had come up with a Horror Hotel. the children had to sit on a bed and were told different stories. During the story someone suddenly came right through the bed where the children were sitting. in short it was a bit too scary for many children. but we got the compliment that the act was well put together.
2019
In 2019 I had invented a track for the children. the kids had to scare us as actors this year. The children were placed in a closet through the back and had to jump out of the closet and imitate a monster so that the actor on the other side of the box would startle. after they startled this actor, they had to crawl under a bed and then startle a sleeping actor awake. if both tasks were successful they were awarded a Monster Diploma. This was all for kids.
Adults
In 2019 I also started adult acting for the first time. the very first Event where I was allowed to play I was placed outside on a scaffolding together with 2 large flamethrowers and searchlight that I could control. I was given a large iron bar to hit things with, and brought along some bricks and toys. I was the entrance and had to entertain everyone who passed by. I used different voices and was allowed to say anything to visitors. a free role. I lured men and women to me so that they would come closer with a very sweet voice and that I would have presents for them. As soon as men came closer I grabbed 2 bricks and asked for their balls in an aggressive voice. I wanted their balls between my bricks. I lured women with a baby doll attached to a rope. there was a 2 meter distance between me and the visitors and as soon as the women came closer. I threw the baby.
I liked this event so much that I started doing several adult events since then. Clown, pirate, monster, zombie, game master, have been allowed to play various fun roles in recent years. I like free roles where you can let your own creativity go.
Last year as a Drunk Pirate and even the amusement park employees thought I was heavily drunk (I stank of booze because I poured alcohol on myself).
My daughter has also been able to participate in recent years. last year and this year we also played an act together at a secondary school. I was the game master (distraction) in a pink bunny suit and the kids had to throw balls into a cup (yes, balls again but neat this time). If they hit they were allowed to choose a hug and at that moment my daughter appears in a teddy bear suit. it was a fun act to perform. we have done it successfully for 2 years now.
This year I only have 1 small children’s event on October 29, this year I took it easy because some private situations have changed. including my 2nd passion that has come to life the Mumzels. I couldn’t leave you without Mumzels for a whole month either.
