Mumzel Nimble and the red object
Nimble was a small, harry Mumzel that lived under the roof tiles of a house. He was green, had big eyes, and long antennae on his head. Nimble was very curious and loved going on adventures at night.
One night, Mumzel Nimble saw something that caught his interest. They were big, shiny objects that moved during the day when people stepped inside them. But when people got out, they stood still. Most of these objects were still at night, and they were so big, sometimes emitting bright light. Nimble wanted to know what they were and how they worked.
He snuck out to the street where the objects were parked. He picked a friendly-looking red one and crawled underneath it, looking around. It smelled bad, and black liquid dripped from one spot. Nimble found it gross and moved on quickly.
He walked to the back of the object and saw an opening. He tried to enter through that side, but it was dark and felt dirty. Breathing was also difficult, so Nimble didn’t dare to go further after a short distance. He emerged quite dirty and felt unclean.
He decided to find something to wash himself. He saw a garden hose hanging from a tap. He turned on the tap, and water shot out. Mumzel Nimble was startled but found it quite enjoyable. He washed himself with the water and shook himself dry.
He looked back at the red object and wondered if he would ever discover what it was and how it worked. He decided to try again but this time at the front. Maybe there was an easier entrance on that side.
He ran to the front of the object and saw two glass eyes staring at him. He also saw a handle shining in the moonlight. He pulled it, and to his surprise, a door opened. He jumped inside and saw all kinds of buttons, lights, and gauges.
He felt like a kid in a candy store. He pressed everything he could find and heard all kinds of sounds. He also saw things moving on a screen in the middle. He didn’t understand anything, but he loved it.
He didn’t realize he had also turned on something important: the engine. The red object started to vibrate and hum. Mumzel Nimble was scared and wanted to run away, but he was stuck in the seatbelt.
Panic set in as Mumzel Nimble struggled to free himself. He watched in horror as the red object picked up speed, swerving around corners and narrowly missing other objects. But then, just as suddenly as it started, the engine died, and the red object came to a stop.
Shaken but unharmed, Mumzel Nimble emerged from the vehicle, wondering what he’d just experienced. Would he ever find out what this thing was and how it worked? Only time would tell.
