Human habbits

A little ‘mumzel’ was bored; the night had already passed, and he was supposed to go to sleep. People were waking up again, but the little ‘mumzel’ had no desire to sleep and wanted to do something. Out of boredom and curiosity, he left his nest under the roof tiles and sneaked into the house. He could already hear various sounds and quietly observed the people through a hole in the wall.

He saw a boy and a girl, along with two larger people, probably the father and mother. Those two seemed a bit hurried, busy moving back and forth while the children calmly ate something on the couch. The mumzel thought to himself that he would like some of that too. It was quite fun and interesting to see what people do, especially how the grown-ups behaved strangely.

But before the ‘mumzel’ knew it, it became quiet. The whole family put on more things and left. On the table, there were leftovers that the children had left behind. Would they come back? The mumzel considered whether to take the food but hesitated, unsure if someone would spot him in broad daylight. He decided to wait for a while, checking if they were really gone. Meanwhile, the mumzel became more and more tired, and boredom started to creep back in. In his mind, he was devising various plans to reach the food, like jumping downstairs, climbing from the couch to the table, and going outside through the mailbox, then climbing back up through the rain gutter.

Suddenly, the mumzel was startled awake by various noises. He looked up and saw that the children had come back home. Now, it was too late to grab the food. Were the people back so quickly, or had the mumzel simply fallen asleep? Disappointed, the mumzel returned to his nest since there was nothing left to eat now.
