In a quiet village, nestled between green hills and babbling brooks, lived the Mumzels. These small, furry creatures had big eyes and two antennae with round, hairy balls on their heads. Despite their monster-like appearance, the Mumzels were incredibly cute.

It was vacation time, and people left for their holidays, abandoning their houses for a few weeks. Pets were often sent to kennels, but the Mumzels stayed home. In the first few days after the humans left, the Mumzels remained cautious. They crept through the house at night, searching for food, and quickly returned to their nests without drawing any attention.

After a few days, the Mumzels realized they were alone. They felt braver and started taking more risks. Every night, the house became their playground. They raided all the cupboards and kitchen drawers, jumped on the sofas and beds, and left a mess everywhere. It was like they were throwing a big party every night.

After two weeks, the humans were still not back, and the food was running out. The Mumzels had eaten everything and left a huge mess behind. With their big eyes, they looked around at the chaos they had created and realized they couldn’t leave the house in such a state. They started cleaning up as best as they could, carefully erasing their tracks.

All the food was gone, and the Mumzels had to search for food in other places. They didn’t like this at all. They fervently hoped the humans would return soon so they wouldn’t have to go far to find food at night.

After three long weeks, the day finally arrived. The humans came back home. The Mumzels hid and watched with joy as the lights turned on and the house filled with the sounds of the returning residents. That night, the Mumzels were happy once more. They knew they could raid the fridge again in their own home without having to travel far for their midnight snacks. And so, they lived contentedly, always ready for the next vacation season.
